Bring Me Blue Skies
// October 3rd, 2011 // Travel Blog
Thought I should kick things off with a little introduction to the travel blog and why I’m writing it.
So here goes… my name is Simmo and I live in Manchester. I have always wanted to travel, see the world and experience the most weird and wonderful things it has to offer (check my Bucketlist for a very incomplete list of things I plan to see or do before I get old and grey).
So when I graduated from university last year and didn’t really have a clue what I wanted to do next, I went through the normal process of searching high and low for a job related to my degree (Multimedia Computing). I eventually found a great job 6 months ago as a Junior SEO, but as some of you know Manchester gets pretty cold and rainy as autumn kicks in after our brief glimpse of sun through the spring and summer. So this year instead of putting up with the dark and gloomy weather that Autumn / winter have to offer I have decided to take the money I have got from working the past 6 months along with other bits of savings and go travelling with some friends (this is the main reason I named the blog ‘Bring Me Blue Skies’, well that and the fact that all the good domain names were taken).
Travelling Plans
We plan to travel through South East Asia, Australia , New Zealand, Figi and parts of the USA in a little less than 6 months. Though flights are booked between countries we haven’t got much of a plan for getting around, we will just be backpacking and seeing where it takes us (I’ll give a rough route in the next post).
Thant’s pretty much all for now, hope you enjoyed reading.

You and I will write of this amazing journey from opposite ends of the age spectrum..I’ll be 71 in a few days…balancing out your probably 21 year old life time of experience. Good on ya..you keep blogging about your adventure on this planet of ours..
